In 1997, clinical pharmacology institute was founded on the basis of original clinical pharmacology department of Henan Medical University. In July 2000, a new Zhengzhou University was established on the basis of the amalgamation of the three former individual universities, namely Zhengzhou University, Zhengzhou University of technology and Henan Medical University. The name of institute renamed Clinical Pharmacology Institute of Zhengzhou University.

 The main study fields of our institute are pharmacokinetics and anaphylaxis caused by drugs. We have been engaged in hypersensitivity reactions of drug for more than 20 years, including the basic and clinical research of anaphylaxis caused by penicilins and streptomycin. In 1998, we signed a protocol with Kolling medical institute of Sydney University in Australia. Recently we have carried out the clinical research of anaphylaxis to food and pollen etc. In the field of pharmacokinetics, we focus on the pharmacokinetics and bioavailability of new drugs, the genetic polymorphism of drug-metabolizing enzymes.
