Institute of Water Resources and Water Economy, which is the special research organization in Zhengzhou University, was established in 1982. There are 4 professors, 6 associate professors, 5 young doctors, 9 young masters and other experts in the institute. Now she has become a favorable research and teaching group consisting of old, middle age and young experts.Certain achievements have been obtained at the graduate student education, science research, technique service and so on. The institute’s main works involve water resources system planning and management, water economy and water problem research.

In the institute, there are five research groups, such as “Water Resources Systems Analyses Group”, “Water Resources Techno-Economy Research Group”, “Water Resources Planning and Management Research Group”, “Hydrology and Water Environment Research Group” and “Hydrology and Water Resources Information Technology Research Group”.
