The School of Tourism Management offers both bachelor's degree program and master's degree program in the field of tourism management.

Tourism management program was first introduced to Zhengzhou University in 1991, when tourism became a new but booming industry in China. Since then, interest in the subject has grown enormously. To meet the demand, in 1993 the Department of Tourism Management was established in the university, and in the year of 2000, it became an independent school and was renamed School of Tourism Management.

The vision of the school is to provide high-quality education to the students in this specialized field and to link the development of the school with the requirements and directions of the industries. To strengthen ties with the industry the school has established co-operative-educational partnership with many hotel and tourism businesses, thus the students have the opportunity to work in hotel, travel agency, conference center and tourism scenic spot areas for industry placement experience.

The school now offers four categories of academic studies and research directions to its students:
1. Hotel Management
2. Travel Agency Management
3. Tourism Resource Planning and Management
4. Conference Management

The school has a 20-odd-member full-time academic faculty. They have published widely in academic and industry journals, and many of them possess industry experience in tourism management.
