Introduction

Laboratory for Cancer Research (LCR) :

LCR was established in Henan Medical University in 1994 by Professor Li Dong Wang after he retuned back from Rutegers, The State University of New Jersey. In 2000, Henan Medical University, ZhengzhouUniversity and Zhengzhou Indusrial University, were combined together as Zhengzhou University. This, LCR has been renamed as LCR, Basic Medicine college, Zhengzhou University since 2000.

Henan Key Laboratory for Esophageal Cancer (HKLEC) :

HKLEC has been established since 2005 based on LCR, approved by Department of Henan Education, Henan Government. HKLEC is affiliated Zhengzhou University, and guided directly by Department of Education, Henan Province Government. HKLEC is focusing on mechanisms of human esophageal and gastric cardia carcinogenesis.

Current Research in HKLEC Includes:

1: Mechanisms of Henan Esophageal and Gastric Cardia Carcinogenesis.

2: Establishment of Specimen Bank for Human Esophageal and Gastric Cardia Multisatge Carcinogenesis. This Bank Includes: Biopsies from Symptom-free Subjects at High-incidence Areas for Esophageal and Gastric Cardia Cancers in Henan, China (Including Normal and Precancerous Lesions, Blood Samples, Clinical Data etc); and Surgically Resected Esophageal and Gastric Cardia Cancer Specimens.3: Esophageal and Gastric Cardia Cancer Field Studies. HKLEC Has Set up Long-term Studying Fields in the Cities of Linzhou (Formelly Linxian), Anyang, Huojia, Changzhi, Henan and Shanxi Province, the High-incidence Areas for Esophageal and Gastric Cardia Cancers; and in Fanxian, Henan Province, the Low-incidence Area for Esophageal Cancer; and in the Cities of Zhongxiang, Hubei Province and Linyi, Shanxi Province, the Migrated Population from High-incidence Areas in Henan.
